Ms. Benavidez brings an exceptional long history of credibility and influence with U.S. elected officials, executive management, selective executive service (SES) appointees, board of directors and commissioners in their roles in both the public and private sectors. She served in the Colorado House of Representatives as the State Representative for House District 5 an inner city, socio economic, culturally diverse community. She built an extensive network of personal and professional influential contacts across the United States.
In 2009, Ms. Benavidez retired from The Colorado Department of Transportation. Ms. Benavidez served as Director of Administration, responsible for the entire IT division for CDOT, accounting, federal billing, finance, and all business processes for the State of Colorado Transportation organization. She was responsible for the Departments $385 million dollar annual procurement budget; all human resource activities for the Department’s 3,200 employees; supervision of federal and state compliance for small and disadvantaged businesses; and oversight of all central records, accounting, and facilities management for CDOT’s 162,000 square foot headquarters complex. She chaired the National Association of Transportation Officials Subcommittee on Civil Rights and held a leadership position with the Western Association of State Highway Transportation Officials.

A native of Denver, Ms. Benavidez recieved a Degree in Business from the University of Albuquerque. Later as a Gates fellow, she graduated from the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Executive Fellows Program at Harvard University.

The small business programs certified Ms. Benavidez for multi-millions of dollars in local, state and federal contracts. Her seven years of business operations and her qualifications as a certified minority women owned business moves her business to apply for the only set-a-side business program in the U.S. the (8a) program. The (8a) program has been identified by the federal government for $100 billion dollars of contracting opportunities for the qualified, certified businesses.
